I am an experienced nanny, having worked for 5 years in Toronto neighbourhoods with children ranging from 4m-12yrs of age. I am university and college educated, holding a Sociology degree from Ryerson University and a Fibre Arts certificate from Haliburton School of The Arts. I have also completed my child and infant CPR training and can provide strong references from families I have worked with previously. I first joined the childcare profession after being laid off from a job in another field, but have chosen to continue working with children because I find it to be challenging and rewarding work. I have always wanted my work to contribute positively to society and I believe this work allows me to do just that. Caring for children each and every day can be trying at times, requiring quite a bit of patience and emotional labour, but the exciting moments I get to share with children and their families make all the challenging bits fade to the background. As a nanny, I believe I am warm and loving, providing children with calm energy and a sense of safety. I like to have fun and enjoy taking children on adventures and outings to parks, drop-in centres, and galleries. I am also very artistic and enjoy working in homes where art and creativity is valued, and with families and children who appreciate the joys of creation. I am encouraging of creativity and artistic expression in children, as I believe this is where so much learning and personal growth can happen. In my personal time I enjoy cooking and baking, challenging myself in a kettle bell workout, cycling around the city with my partner and stepdaughter, and having picnics on Toronto Island. I have had a range of experiences as a nanny and feel confident in my ability to work in many different household settings, with children of all ages. I am also comfortable with infant care and the care of very young children, as most of my experience has been with children between the ages of 6m and 2yrs. I am comfortable with performing all the necessary day-to-day tasks, including: diaper changes, meal prep, nap time, play dates, and conflict resolution. I have also worked for high-profile individuals and can assure that respect for a family's private home life and confidentiality are guaranteed and always kept in the forefront of my mind. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I am seeking a position that provides a minimum of 2-3 days of full-time work each week (8-9hrs), between the hours of 8am and 6pm. I am also seeking a schedule that is consistent from week to week. I am interested in full-time positions as well (40hrs/wk). I am open to nanny shares if the situation is right.
