I've been a nanny since I was 16 for family, friends and neighbors back home as volunteer, until my 20's. after that I came to Canada, worked in cleaning services for some time while I was studying English, (about 2 years) after that I've been working on and off as nanny/security guard, I took care of one year old, 4 months old, 4 & 7 year old's, 3 & 4 old's, 8month old and recently 2 year old. I'm used to obvious tasks for baby-sitting, like changing diapers, book reading, bathing, changing clothing, feeding, light meal prep, folding laundry, light cleaning, making beds (parents, older children), putting babies/toddles to sleep/nap, going for walks, play time as well as teaching time (letters, numbers, tying & putting shoes, wiping themselves) ''infusing'' wanted by parents behaviors. I'm fun, loving and patient, I always try to make the time kids spend with me worth remembering, I rather play and teach than watching TV, TV is only an reward for good behaviors, or when child feels sick or temporarily & reasonably upset. I like spending time with kids outside mostly, get them movement/exercises and fresh air as much as possible, when the weather is not good for long walks and play, I still like to go at least for 15-30min. even when it's raining splashing in the puddles is a good idea.! ;-) after coming back, if kids are wet and cold, I can assure you I won't let them get sick, my own mum's recipe : come back, jump to warm bath & change in something dry and warm after, get warm drink like tea, and relax in bed reading stories or on sofa with blankets and pillows snuggling watching some TV. -and I have to tell you, it does work, kids have fun, but are not sick, and yet they build naturally their immune system, and they will not only get their energy down before bed, but they will feel care for and plus they will have fun memories for years to come. I'm very encouraging with kids, pushing them to believe in themselves, raising the bar as high as it is possible so they can overcome theirs fears and barriers. I like teach kids kindness, patience, but also common sense, and to be aware of danger, -that's all important for teaching them from very beginning the necessary stuff which will prepare them altogether to the adulthood. I do like to give advise to parents if needed or wanted but also I do not like sticking my nose into not my business, meaning I can always say what in my opinion is good or better but if someone won't listen I won't push it, as I think everyone have right to have an opinion as well as choose the action themselves, ..I'm always open to discussion, so don't be afraid of a little confrontation if you feel something in my action is/was not satisfying to you, I would very much like to know about it, I'm honest so I want honesty from you as well.
