I'm Talya and I am a 23-year-old with over 10 years of experience working with children between the ages of 6 months and 12 years old. I am passionate about providing excellent care and creating engaging experiences for kids and I prioritize a gentle parenting approach that values empathy, communication, and respect, and I love to have fun and engage children's creativity. In addition to my experience working with children, I also have a background in sustainable urban agriculture, which has given me an appreciation for healthy living and environmental conservation. I currently work part time as an urban agriculture coordinator for collective gardens downtown, where I also teach children how to garden and get connected to nature. My studies in Environment and Anthropology have provided me with a strong foundation in sustainability, and I am passionate about promoting sustainability and environmental resilience especially in in urban settings. When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy playing music on my guitar, reading, making mugs in pottery on the wheel, and drawing. These hobbies have allowed me to develop my creative side and given me an outlet to express myself, which I believe translates well to providing engaging and stimulating experiences for children.
