I have been working with kids for 18 years. In Brazil my Aunt had a school and daycare program. I was responsible for helping transition them from home to school. I had a natural ability to help the toddlers and young kids feel comfortable with me and get used to this new environment. I was in charge of creating fun and engaging activities that include fun and leisure games for kids, teaching hygiene like( teaching showering/ toileting), and age -appropriate educational activities (art/ math and other homework). When I moved to Canada in 2015, I started working with my first family who had 4 children ranging from 1- 12yrs of age. This was a live in position for 2 years (October 2015 – July 2017). This was a 12 hour per day shift. I prepared the older kids for school after I made them breakfast and lunch. I would take them to school and then stay home with the 1 year old until the kids came back from school for snack and dinner, which I would prepare. After this I worked for multiple families throughout the years but not as often as before as I picked up some work in construction and captaining boats. I am ready now to go back to my passion and get back to doing what I love, working with children.
