My name is Marlene I was born and raised in North Vancouver and I have a passion for children and chose to be a professional nanny. I am looking for live out child focusedposition, I am also willing to take on a child share position. I really enjoy taking care of children, and going on adventures whether it is to the park or library or a strong start program to playdates or taking the children on field trips to somewhere that they can have fun and learn. I do believe in getting the child/children out everyday. I love to read stories and act silly with them and I like to watch their faces light up when we do an arts and craft or do some baking. I am very flexible with hours and very honest and have lots of patience. Some of my hobbies include watching Football, hockey and baseball. I love going on a road trip to anywhere and I have done some travelling on my vacation time and would love to do some more. I enjoy discovering new places and being a tourist in my own city. I enjoy trivia and board games along with reading a good book. If your looking for someone to look after your child and love them as my own in your absence and are looking for someone who is understanding of their needs, and can be firm but fair when needed and believe in reminding children of good manners and allowing the child to be young and carefree then I am just the person you are looking for.

I am a mature, honest, flexible and fun nanny with many years of child care experience as I had a daycare in my home for several years while my grown son was young. The ages of the kids were from new born to 12 years old. I was a baby sitter from the age of 11 watching the young children in my neighbourhood. After 1.5 years I am sad to say my full time nanny position ended with a really great family in Aug, 2023 and i am looking for a new family I can help out. I took care of 2 great little ones who are now 4 and 26 months old. Previous to that I was a nanny for a fantastic family in the Blueridge area looking after 2 brothers for 2.5 years. Their ages when I started were 20 months and 7 and are now 6 and 11. I also was a nanny for a 6 year old boy who was special needs and his 4 yr old sister for 2 years previous to that. And before that I was a live in nanny for 2 different families one was in Squamish taking care of a 16 month old boy being raised by his Grandfather and before that a family in West Vancouver and they had 3 girls ages 9 months, 3 and 5. I have also babysat for several families over the years and continue to do that occasionally. My duties have included making bottles and changing diapers to potty training, Including bathing and teaching personal hygiene, I also took the kids to out of school activities and lessons including therapy sessions by car and transit. I prepped meals along with making healthy snacks and well-balanced kid-appropriate meals and packed lunches, walked the kids to school and back along with light housekeeping such as dishes, sweeping, dusting, laundry, and just kept the kids area tidy and organized. I loved to get down on the ground and play games or build puzzles and build LEGO and train sets, and sing songs. I attended playgroups and Strong Start programs with some of the children. I also wiped away tears and gave hugs. When parents were running late or caught in traffic or needed a night out or a trip out of town I stayed as I am very flexible. I have been trained with in Standard First Aid level 2 with CPR with AED along with my Responsible Adult certificate. I am fully vaccinated from Covid along with all boosters and I have had the flu shot . I have a clean class 5 drivers license and am comfortable driving with children or taking them on public transit.
