When I was in USA, family I Stayed with had 2 kids. 1 and 1, 5. When I got to know them better, I was regularly doing their laundry, play with them, go out with them, giving them bath, looking after them when family was not home. Plus when my sisters first daughter was born, I was there with them all the time. Feeding her, taking care of her, changing her diapers, giving her bath since very little age. Now she is 5 and the little one is 2. They love me as well as kids from US family did.
