I am a 21 year old Caucasian female from London, Ontario. I currently live in Oshawa, Ontario with my partner, however I am very close with my family. I have been accepted to the Social Service Worker program at Durham College, which begins in September. I am the eldest child of 2 girls in my family, and the eldest grandchild of 5 girls. However I do have experience with babysitting both genders as my parents friends have sons much younger than I am as well. I also have a goddaughter who is 2 years old, and an honorary nephew who is 6 months old. I have experience working with children from the ages of newborn until around 12 years old. I have a passion for reading and for learning, which I encourage wholeheartedly to any children I look after. I also partake in sports (namely baseball, however I have knowledge and experience in basketball and ball hockey as well), and I was also a dancer (ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop) so my interests and skills vary. I am looking for a job to help me gain the necessary experience I will need for my program, as well as give me the chance to build connections with the next generation and help them learn and grow to the best of their ability. I am also hoping to find a job that will help me save money for my education. I am a caring person, and I pride myself in my ability to gain the respect and trust of others. I hope to be able to make some form of difference in the world. Even if that difference doesn't come from me, but from someone else I have helped along the way.

I have experience with; coming up with entertaining activities for various age groups, making healthy meals and snacks, changing diapers, following schedules and plans laid out by parents/guardians, as well as basic housekeeping skills I did a cooperative placement at Child Reach and helped families build better connections with their children, as well as child minding. I also completed the Red Cross Babysitting Course, and the Parenting class that is taught at H. B. Beal Secondary School. I also have my Level C First Aid/CPR license.
