Hi parents, a little about me is that I am a 22 year old female, living in an apartment with my older sister in the Oak Bay/Fernwood area of Victoria B. C.
I am currently looking for a job nannying, as it's been my favorite work in the past, and as I wait to begin my Early Learning and Care Certification at Camosun College (to commence in September 2021), this is the work I'd like to do. I have nannied and babysat in casual, part-time and full-time positions on and off since high-school, and will provide whomever contacts me with a detailed resume/list of all these positions and of course contact numbers to families I have worked with. I have taken care of children aged 1yr-12yrs, and up to 5 children at a time. I take this work very seriously, as varying forms of childcare are what I plan to do for the rest of my life/career. I am currently furthering my knowledge on infant care through Innate Traditions " Infant Physiology" course (offered online), and plan to continue to further my childcare knowledge in general outside of Camosun. I am very familiar and comfortable with all First Aid practices (choking, CPR, allergy treatment etc) adapted for infants and older children.
Something special about the way I nanny, is my natural ability and conscious commitment to being a stable emotional support to the children I work with. It is so important that each child feels safe and adequately cared for by their secondary/alternating caregivers. I believe these experiences with trust affect each child's ability to connect, learn and grow as they move forward in the world, so I always do my absolute best to create strong, healthy bonds with the children I work with.
As far as transportation goes, I do not have a driver's license or car, so any travelling with the kids would have to be in walk-able or buss-able distance. I grew up in Victoria bussing/biking/walking everywhere, so as long as the family does not require driving for transportation, I can quickly learn/adapt to any routes needed.
I have a recently updated my Emergency First Aid and Infant CPR certification, and have my Foodsafe also (as most jobs require meal-prep).
I love to do art with the kids I watch, as well as plenty of reading, out and indoor play and whatever else fits into their ideal day. I am also happy to help older children with homework as needed. I willingly clean, tidy and maintain the households I work in so you may come home for quality ( not clean-up ) time and will take-on any other appropriate responsibilities my employer requests.
I am also comfortable with/have lots of experience putting any age children to sleep, and will adapt to/learn from whatever routine the child/family desires if the job requires.
Bottom line, I adore working with children, and if I could help out your family by doing what truly makes me happiest, I'd be very honoured and thankful.
Availability: Monday - Friday 7am-8pm, Sat. and Sun. optional (can discuss further with family).
Starting rate: $17/hour. Desired hours: 20-40/week (adjustable through discussion of family needs/ongoing changes). |

Nadine Morency |
I have worked for Nadine for about a year and half, fluctuating between full and part time. I still leave Friday nights open for this family, as I am very close with the children and will maintain a connection with them as long as I may/as long as the parents require my assistance. |

Christine Logan |
Babysat part-time for Christine's one daughter (Libbie). Lovely family, and Christine also happens to facilitate a Facebook group "Babysitters Club" which provides families in the area in need of help with experienced sitters of whom hold references within the group (to ensure safety for the children). |
