  About Me
I am currently a 3rd year nursing student at Mount Royal University and have had considerable experience working with children from newborns to adolescents. I grew up babysitting my younger siblings and continued to work with children of all ages through volunteering and my nursing practicums, including children with special needs and/or physical disabilities. I am a positive, compassionate, and responsible individual with a valid driver's license and up to date CPR/AED certification. Ideally, I am looking for a part-time job as childcare provider or respite worker, preferably in the NW or NE quadrant of Calgary. However, I am flexible and open to discussing options. Please contact me if you have any further questions :)

Summer 2015: I worked as an assistant camp counselor at a science camp for Francophone children in Gatineau, Quebec. This position was for 6 weeks and I supervised children from the ages of 5-12 years old, developing positive relationships with the staff and children despite the language barrier.
May 2018: I volunteered with an organization called Taking Strides, providing one-to-one support for children with special needs to improve their physical literacy. The sessions took place weekly for a month, incorporating sports equipment and group activities as part of the program.
July 2018: I spent a year as a volunteer at the Rotary Flames House, providing companionship and respite care for children with complex medical needs. This may include developmental delays, sensory deficits, behavioral issues, and/or physical disabilities.
January 2019: During my Child Health block for nursing, I spent 3 weeks in Hawaii working at a local elementary with a Grade 2 classroom to promote health practices and resiliency. The following 3 weeks, I worked with a Grade 7 class in Calgary to provide one-to-one support and provide health promotion lessons.
March 2019: During my Family-Newborn block for nursing, I spent 6 weeks on a postpartum unit and was able to provide care for newborns and their mothers. I assessed, fed, changed, bathed, and provided comfort for the newborns.
August 2019: I volunteered as a one-to-one support at Kids Cancer Care's Camp Kindle for a week. I supported a 7-year-old girl diagnosed with leukemia, ADHD, Autism, and a developmental delay disorder.
