My name is Luciana, I have a degree from Pontificia Universidade de Minas Gerais in Modern Languages (English, Portuguese and Literature). I worked as a teacher for over five years, including the internship program at the University. In 2010 I decided to study more English and other languages, so I moved to Europe where I could further my goal. Firstly, I moved to Ireland, and then I moved to Finland, which was an amazing experience. There I could learn more about the Finnish culture and learn a bit of Finnish and Swedish because it is a bilingual country. Finally, I moved to Germany and took German lessons. I worked in Finland as an au pair. I took care of two girls, when I first arrived they were 2, 5 and 4 years old. I looked after mostly of the youngest one since she is disabled. My main tasks were taking them and pick them up at the day care, playing, going out and have fun. I was also responsible to take the youngest one to the physical therapist and other therapies that she was scheduled. I went back to my home country where I could have great experiences in bilingual schools and regular school as well. I had the opportunity to work as a teacher assistant and later on have my own classes working as a teacher. I was responsible to help the teacher with two groups of children, the first one were formed by children between 2. 5 and 4 years old and there were in the second group children of the age 6 years old. I was in charge to help the children during the activities, helping the teachers to prepare the material of the classes, such as set apart some papers for art class, or book and help the kids with the ts tasks. I was also involved in the class planning which allowed me to be more helpful during the classes. After that I had my own classes where there were older children at the ages between 7 to 9 years old. I followed a bilingual program set by the school which included teaching many subjects in English using games. At the same school I taught English as a foreign languages to the grades 4, 5 and 9. I am currently living in Vancouver under open work visa. In Vancouver I acquired home child care experience helping parents with housework and all the work necessary related to child development. I specially worked with a 3 year old girl. We were always out and doing things to have fun, we used to go to the libraries, parks, playgrounds and aquarium. I do have experience with babies and toddlers. At the moment I am studying part time at BCIT so part time job will suit me well. I am really excited to start something new so looking forward to hearing from you..
