I am a single, South Asian, 42 year old female living and in Park Lawn, Toronto. As a teacher for grades 1-6 in Halton District School Board, I frequently work with different youth groups to build a safe environment for them to be successful and confident. I have completed a Bachelors of Education (SFU) and Masters of Educational Technology from UBC. By utilizing effective classroom management practices and a hands-on activities approach to teaching, it has helped to understand how to engage and enhance the children's social growth in a caring and supportive manner. I am actively involved in the community and taught dance for community meet ups. I am detail-orientated, organized and have the capability of fostering positive relationships by diffusing frustration, negotiating and generating ideas in order to bring about a positive situation. My ability to get along well with others and to make necessary adjustments have all contributed to my growth in this field and my employers placing a significant degree of trust in me. I am passionate about working with people/children and strive to build a safe and nurturing environment for children to prosper.
