My name is Sara - I am 26 years old & live in Brandon, Manitoba with my boyfriend and fur baby. I have spent the past 7 years working with children on the autism spectrum - It is a job that I truly enjoy as I love being able to help others and have always loved working with children of all ages. I am a very empathetic & passionate person with a lot of love to give. I have always desired a position as a nanny but until recently, I haven't been granted the flexibility to do so - I am very excited to have the opportunity to explore. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and friends - We like to go quadding with our friends & spend a lot of time at the lake in the summer at my family cabin. I have been babysitting for friends & family since I was 11 years old - I have always loved being around children & especially love being able to assist in teaching new skills. When I turned 18, I immediately got a job in a daycare centre in Brandon where I worked with children ages 2-12 - This is also where I found my passion for working with children with autism spectrum disorder. For 2 1/2 years, I went from one daycare to the next within my day and I truly enjoyed being able to meet & work with all different families and children of all ages. I left the my position with the daycare in 2015 so I could continue my focus on children with autism. Ever since, I have been working for the province of Manitoba to assist children with autism and their families navigate through all different challenges as well as enjoy all the great things in life.

I graduated in 2010 from Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School. After a couple years of travelling & tutoring English overseas, I attended Brandon University with the goal to obtain a degree in Education. After 2 years of university, I chose to withdraw so I could explore my career in child care (more specifically, teaching and caring for children with autism).
