My name is Drea and Im 23 years old.
I am a certified health care aide who, in mid 2022, came to the realization childcare is my passion. I enjoy playing games and being silly just as much as the kids do.
I like to encourage outdoor activities, arts and crafts, board games/ card games and puzzles instead of screen time. I love music, singing and dancing, being creative and just having fun.
A but about my approach to child care-
I fully understand that when working so close with children you are a direct role model for the.
I work very hard to build trust with the kid/s I am working with. I take opportunities to listen and let them feel heard/validated.
I have somewhat of a gentle parenting approach in the sense that I prefer to have a conversation about a situation- what happened, how it made them feel, what we can do differently next time, what are the natural consequences (example: if you push another kid on the playground, they might not want to keep playing if you’ve hurt them and their feelings.)
Rather than giving discipline.
I think it’s important to give kids a proper chance to correct unkind behaviour.
If you have questions or would like to setup to meet in person dont be afraid to send me a message!
3.5years experience working as an in home caregiver with families that required occasional supervision of their kids/grandkids. From early 2019 to mid 2022 when I switched to focus on child care.
My most recent childcare work experience is:
Nanny- Supervise child (age under 2yrs), cooked for child, get child ready (bath, brush teeth, get dressed), engage with child
Casual babysitter- supervise children (aged 4&8yrs), play with kids and encourage creativity and problem solving, take them to the park, make dinner, help kids get ready for bed.
- Supervise child (age 12months +) feed child dinner, get child ready for bed & put child to sleep.
I’m happy to provide you references :)
