I am a 20-year-old student at the University of Carleton, currently completing a double major in Biology and Physics with a minor in ASL. As of this December, I am taking at least a year off of school to work. I am available full-time, have my drivers license and access to my own car (2017 Honda HR-V). The goal is to eventually teach young deaf children. I have my CPR-B certification, as well as swimming levels 1-bronze cross. I started babysitting seven years ago and nannying in 2014. I served as a Mother's aide with two children, a 6-month-old and a two-year-old. I helped this family three nights a week for a year. In the summer of 2017, I was a full-time nanny for two boys, ages 4 and 6 and on occasion a two-year-old girl. I was responsible for organizing and supervising a variety of activities, from swimming to homework as well as play dates with other children. I also prepared nutritional meals and did housework, such as dishes, cleaning, and laundry. I gained hands-on experience with bigger groups of children at Mini Muffins Daycare, as a Daycare Assistant. The largest group of children I have cared for simultaneously was a set of four siblings: a 6-year-old, 4-year-old, 2-year-old and 3-month-old. I am passionate about the quality care of children. The opportunity to watch them grow and learn continues to amaze me. I believe in a very interactive form of childcare. By tailoring my approach to each individual child, I can provide them with stimulating play, learning opportunities, and exercise. I served on the student council executive board at my high school for four years. Last summer, I owned and operated my own painting business which grossed over 50, 000 dollars. I completed a red cross babysitting certification and a Dovercourt leadership camp, where I had the opportunity to work with children with disabilities. I am passionate about my commitments and danced ballet for ten years and played hockey for twelve. I deeply enjoy helping others and have completed a humanitarian trip to Costa Rica. I was born and raised here in Ottawa but am well traveled. My desire to communicate with others has led me to learn Spanish and ASL, on top of my fluent knowledge of both French and English. Please message me with any additional questions you may have. I will be happy to answer you as promptly as possible.

The largest group of children I have cared for simultaneously was two different sets of four siblings, one of whom were composed of a 6-year-old, 4-year-old, 2-year-old and 3-month-old. The youngest child I have cared for was just four-weeks-old. I put her down for naps, bottle-fed her and changed diapers. I am currently nannying a near 8-month-old boy whom I have taken care of for five months, regularly assisting in the evening routine for a family with four children under 10 and occasionally caring for a 2-year-old and 6-month-old. My main nannying family is happily serving as a contactable reference as needed. I am passionate about the quality care of children.
