I am Stephanie, an accomplished and resourceful individual whose educational journey led her to successfully complete the Child and Youth Care program. Part of who I am comes from the invaluable teaching and experiences in that program, which extensively contributed to my proficiency and understanding of child development and care. Currently, my professional journey has led me to work within the school board, assuming the challenging yet fulfilling position of a developmental support worker. My place of work is not the typical classroom setting but a special community class that caters to children on the autism spectrum ranging in age from Junior Kindergarten to grade 3. My interaction with these children on a daily basis provides me with a rich, rewarding experience and an opportunity to positively impact their developmental journey. In addition, before taking on this role, I used to be an enthusiastic dance teacher. My students ranged in age from 3 to 10. This experience in teaching dance to the kids was not just about imparting dance skills but also about fostering self-expression, self-confidence, teamwork, and discipline among the young minds. It was indeed a gratifying journey watching them embrace dance and enjoy themselves thoroughly. In my personal life, I am gifted with two adorable young ones, a 6-year-old niece and a 2-year-old nephew. I frequently babysit them and enjoy the moments we spend together, from playtime to mealtimes. I also have many little cousins who I cherish spending my time with, playing with them, and watching over them, which in its own way is a rewarding and fun experience in itself. As an individual, I pride myself on being a diligent and resilient worker who does not shy away from responsibility or challenges. More than just work, I am also someone who enjoys entertaining others and inserting fun and laughter into any environment. I am highly respectful towards everyone I meet, and I firmly believe in developing cordial, genuine connections with each person I encounter in my life's journey. I derive joy from establishing these connections and learning from each person's unique experiences and perspectives.

I am currently a developmental support worker for the school board working in an autism community class with primary kids. Prior to that I was a child and youth worker at a mental health Day treatment Center. Babysitting was my first job as a teen. My mom taught the Babysitting course, so I attended the course many times, once to get the certificate and then afterwards I was her assistant. Working with children was my first real job when I was of age, I was able to teach dance to children the ages of 3 to 10. I gradated from the Child and Youth Care program at Seneca College, and was able to have hands on experience in a Transitional Diagnostic classroom, with children with exceptionalities, a mental health residence and a day treatment center.
