I am 51 years old and very fit and energetic. I have 22 years experience working as a Family Support Worker for a child protection agency in Barrie, ON. I have excellent references who would describe my passion for my work and work ethic to be insurmountable. I have many skills and a lot of training in child development, relationships, attachment, positive parenting, and groupwork that I will use to ensure your children have a rich and nurturing experience in my care. I’m a fantastic cook and I use creativity in my meal preparation. For the last year I have been experimenting with living a whole-food-plant-based diet, but I haven’t given up meat and/or seafood yet. My attention to detail will ensure your home is always neat and clean, but while the children and I are at play, my focus will be on following their lead and having fun. We can clean up our mess afterward, and we will do it together so they can learn responsibility and accountability. I am fun and social and I am confident you will be happy with my performance, and that I will be a valuable member of your family for years to come. I also have two wonderful sons who are now 28 and 24 years old and they live in Barrie with their spouses. They are both successful young men full of life. I’m competing in my first CrossFit competition in Guelph on February 16/19; which, I believe, speaks to my level of dedication and perseverance; and, how I can set goals and work hard to achieve them. I have been married for 28 years and I need a change. After supporting both our kids through post-secondary education, and giving them a full life that included many travels, we want to pay off all our debts to be able to retire free of any financial responsibilities in the next 5-10 years. My college diplomas are not relevant to childcare nor my profession (business and RMT). I have been fortunate to be trained by the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies over the last 22 years and worked myself up the ladder to my current position that now requires a university degree.
