My name is Ashley. I grew up in a small town called Newcastle, Ontario, and I have been caring for kids of all age ranges since I was a teenager. I recently moved back to southern Ontario from the North Bay area where I spent a year working at Little Wings Child Care, the daycare located on CFB North Bay. I have many years of experience being self employed as a nanny, and it has always been my passion. I am the eldest from a family of four, and my big sister personality has grown with me in my childcare career. Along with this experience, I am CPR Level C certified, with my full G license for over 5 years, as well as my own vehicle. In my spare time, I love to be active. I have a year old Shepherd, and we love being outside on walks and playing in the neighbourhood. When I am not outside, I am making my own jewelry. I have a love for all things crafts, and my art is one of my favourite hobbies. I love bringing this hobby to other families I have cared for. I also love to read fiction and fantasy books.

I have been babysitting since I was young. For 4 years, during high school, I babysat 3-4 times a week for 3 hours in the evening. They had a 2 year old and a 7 year old. My duties were to take care of the children's nighttime routine, and put them to sleep. As I got older, I pursued a nanny position with a family that required me about 5 days a week from 6am to 4pm. I was responsible for a 8 month old and a 3 year old. My duties involved meal prep, hygienic duties (ex. brushing teeth, getting dressed, baths, diaper changes), daily activities to keep the children entertained, and nap time for the youngest. I cared for this family until the mother was laid off and no longer needed my services. After this, I was the "second mom" for my most recent family, with two kids aged 8 and 6. My duties varied greatly over the 2 years I spent with them. I was responsible for helping with homework, making dinner, packing lunches for the next day, driving the kids to their extra curricular activities (ex. gymnastics, hockey, soccer, Jiu-Jitsu), driving the kids home from school, to hair appointments, dentist appointments, etc. I was also responsible to care for their dog's needs like food and walks. I recently left this family to move to North Bay. While in North Bay, I worked at a child care facility called Little Wings Child Care. I was able to continue developing my skills in the childcare industry, but in a professional setting. LWCC gave me the opportunity to attend child development workshops, and I have been able to strengthen my skills within infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age age groups. I spent a year at LWCC, but then I moved back to the Clarington area. If it weren't for the move, I would still be there. These are the main professional experiences I have had being a child care giver, but I have lots of personal experience babysitting siblings, cousins, and family friends' children.

I completed high school with the highest grade in my French class, and I graduated from Cambrian College with a diploma in General Business. I also am Standard First Aid with Level C CPR & AED certified with St John's Ambulance. I have been certified for 4 years.
