August, 2020 To Whom It May Concern, I would be a great fit for this job, due to my extensive experience of leading children and youth in various capacities and scenarios over the past three years, and my dedication to the care and attention of those I am working with. I currently work overseeing the Day Camps and Afterschool Care Programs for a local municipality and am looking for a second job in childcare, as it is an area I feel most confident in. As well as overseeing these programs on a part time basis, I am a third year student in the Social Work program at UFV. In the year prior to my employment here in the Lower Mainland, I held the position of Children’s Ministry Director at SunRidge Community Church in West Kelowna. Through holding this position I have learned how to create, implement and teach an instructive and fun program for children, lead volunteers of all ages and train and equip youth and adults with the tools necessary for running a relationally-centered yet instructive program. This job has also taught me how to collaborate with and work with people of all ages and all walks of life, as well as how to be flexible in my planning. Apart from my work at SunRidge, the role I held as Director of Discipleship at Green Bay Bible Camp allowed me to form curriculum not just for children, but for young adults as well. While in this role I demonstrated leadership, communication and organization, as I was responsible for the well-being, teaching and mentoring of over thirty young women. Furthermore, I was able to demonstrate my organization, planning and relational skills in the execution of an annual event I led called the Goof Ball: an event designed for families to come together and celebrate the uniqueness of each child and their gifts, abilities, personality and wiring that they have been given. It celebrated more than twenty families, and gave great opportunity for me to demonstrate my event-planning skills and grow in my leadership. I believe the aforementioned provides just a few examples of why I could effectively fill this role. This role interests me as it gives opportunity for me to use my caregiving skills in a tangible way, and provides me opportunity to further develop my skills as a childcare provider. I appreciate your consideration of me as an applicant and look forward to hearing from you and expanding my reasons for why I would be a perfect candidate for this position. Thank you, Olivia (Liv)
