My family and I moved to the Comox Valley in July 2018. I lived in North Vancouver for my entire life until moving to the island. I have an older brother who is 20 and a younger brother who is 15. My mother is an elementary school teacher and my father is an energy advisor. Our move to the island was not a difficult decision, our only regret is not moving sooner. We moved from a busy city and small property to a gorgeous community with a small acreage. We have a dog, two cats, 10 chickens, two ducks and are planning to get mini cows at the end of April. We could not be happier. I graduated from high school last June and have decided to take a year off. In January, I went to New Zealand by myself and did a backpackers bus tour for two months. My trip taught me independence and how to SURVIVE without my parents. I am currently in the process of enrollment at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. I am going there on an academic and a rugby scholarship. I have known for pretty much my entire life that I wanted to be in a profession that involved children. For as long as I can remember my family called me the "baby whisperer". I know that nursing is going to be the perfect fit for me. Once I specialize, not only will my career involve children, but it will give me the opportunity to help them and take care of them under the unfortunate circumstances that brought them to me. My hobbies include playing rugby for the Comox Valley Kickers, sewing, knitting, reading, baking and hanging out with friends and family. I love being outside, I take my dog for walks through the forest and on the beach. I love swimming in the ocean and skiing on the mountain. I am planning on taking a standard first aid and CPR course within the next month. I am willing to do any cooking or cleaning that is needed while on the job. I have my N which means I can drive with one other person and I have my own car. Nothing would make me happier than to care for your child.

Although I am only 18, I have had a tremendous amount of experience caring for children. I started babysitting when I was 10 years old for a 2-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. I cared for them 2 to 3 times a week and continued to care for them for 5 years. We became very close and I still see them from time to time. I took my babysitters course when I was 11 and babysat for close family friends 3 times a week when I was in seventh grade. I would get the kids ready for school and walk them to our elementary school and then we would walk home after school and I babysat for 3 hours until their parents got home from work. I did multiple other babysitting jobs here and there. The ages of children I babysat for ranged from 6 months to 11 years old.
