I have a work background in child and youth care, libraries, teaching fitness classes, and admin. at a yoga studio. My community volunteering is varied and includes Girl Guides of Canada and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. My hobbies and interests include reading, arts & crafts, playing Pickleball, tropical plant care, writing, biking, road trips, and community volunteering. I love cats. Friends and family know me as a kind, playful, responsible, smart and trustworthy person who is enthusiastic about the care of children and animals.

My employment and volunteer positions have given me much experience with babies, children and teens, including 1 year working in an after-school daycare, 2 years tutoring children ages 6-10 years, 4 years as a community support worker with pre-teens on the autism spectrum, 1 year as a "baby snuggler" in Mom & Baby yoga classes and 1 year as a nanny for a 4 year old boy until he entered kindergarten. I also have provided child care on a casual as-needed basis for a neighbour's twin girls from age 1 to currently (age 10). I provide attention and care in a positive relaxed way, as well as giving supportive guidance and structure when needed. Safety is top priority. I am patient, caring, responsible, reliable, mature and l Iove to laugh and watch children grow, play and learn. My favourite activities to do with children are swimming, arts & crafts, bike riding, reading stories, games, walks to the park, playing with pets, playground time. Happy to do school pick up, homework supervision, snack & meal prep, housekeeping (including vacuuming, laundry). I have current First Aid CPR certification and Food Safe certification. Can provide excellent references, Criminal Record check, and Drivers Abstract.
