  About Me

Hi there,

My name is Katie. I am 24 years old and am eager to find a summer position as a nanny or a rehabilitation companion (full time Monday-Friday, with some weekend availability). I am originally from Port Hope, Ontario (about an hour east of Toronto), and came to Ottawa to pursue a career as a teacher.

I am passionate about working with people of all ages, ethnicity and ability. I have extensive experience working with children as well as individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). After studying linguistics and psychology at Queen's University (2013-2017), I became interested in child development and speech pathology. I decided to work alongside two incredible speech pathologists who taught me tangible skills when working with exceptionalities, cognitive development and social barriers. Through my schooling this year, I was fortunate enough to work in an ELD system class with students who were learning English as a second language. I was very involved in this school community and made many relationships with both students and staff.

Building strong connections with others is something that Ive always excelled at. This is why I decided to become an educator because I am confident in my ability to connect with others as well as teach subjects beyond the classroom.

I am very compassionate, hard working, dependable, personable, enthusiastic, goofy/funny (or I like to think I am), creative, driven and organized. I am always looking out for those around me and that is something that I am translate into my work as I continue my education. I love to play sports (soccer, hockey, floorball), listen to music and be outside. I am clean, responsible and am very good with all animals (LOVE dogs).

*I am hoping to incorporate as many activities as I can outside because I value being active with my clients.

If you think I would be a good fit as a support or nanny for your family please don't hesitate to email me.

Thanks so much. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Katie
