I am a young professional with over six years of childcare experience, ranging from infants as young as six weeks to children and youth as old as 19. I have just completed my Child & Youth Care degree at the University of the Fraser Valley. My next step is to become an elementary school teacher, which I am planning to go to school for in 2024! This summer, I am taking online courses to make sure I can get into the Bachelor of Education program on time. I am trained in first aid, child protection, and have acquired a Responsible Adult and an ECEA certification. My criminal record check is updated and is checked each year for practicum placements and other employment opportunities. I grew up in Kelowna and relocated to the lower mainland for school. I've always kept myself busy with school, work, family, friends, and fitness. Whenever I get breaks from school, I love to go back to Kelowna to spend time with my parents and our puppy.

My first experience in childcare was a volunteer role at the YMCA for two years in high school before getting hired. At the YMCA I worked in childminding (an infant/toddler drop off program) and recreational programs, which included swimming and outdoor activities with older children. During my first few years of university I worked as a live-in nanny for two boys aged 3 and 5, and as a nanny for a 16 month old! I did my fourth year Child & Youth Care practicum at Glen Elementary where I built relationships with students ages 5-10 through running programs, one-on-one self regulation activities, and spending time in the students' classrooms. This practicum made me realize that I want to be an elementary school teacher! Working with kids has always been my passion.

My high school diploma is from Okanagan Mission Secondary School. I just graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a BA in Child & Youth Care. I have also completed my ECEA and Responsible Adult certificate.
