I am an artist, recently graduated from a BFA in dance from Concordia University. I grew up in Toronto as the oldest sibling and cousin in my family, with a younger brother and multiple younger cousins, all of whom I have been closely involved in their growing up. More specifically, I gained a lot of experience looking after newborns-young children by taking care of and being a nanny to my twin cousins off and on from their birth into toddlerhood and then childhood. With this said, I have experience changing diapers, doing bottle feeding, burping, dealing with gas etc. I also have experience working with children aged 6-16 as I worked as a counsellor at a sleep away summer camp in Ontario. There I was responsible for 8-10 children at a time 24/7, which built my skills in problem solving, activity running, first aid, lifeguarding and leadership. After high school, I lived with a family in Bologna, Italy who I would babysit for. The kids were 8 and 11 at the time. While in Bologna I also taught english to a kindergarten class a couple days a week. More recently, I worked at a Waldorf school in Toronto, supervising the grade 1s and 2s and running an after-school program for kids from grade 1- grade 6. I have always had a deep love for babies and children and feel very comfortable and confident in my abilities to create a safe, secure and stimulating environment for them. One of my interests moving into my future is art therapy, as I also have a deep love for art of all forms, and learning how art can become a unique source of empowerment and healing in people's lives. At the moment, I am primarily interested in finding a part time arrangement looking after an infant/ helping a new mother gain some much needed and deserved rest and independence. I look forward to the joy that will bring to my life, and hopefully to yours as well.
