  About Me

My name is Taylor and I am currently on a working visa in Canada. I am originally from New Zealand where I grew up in a family of 6 and worked as a registered nurse on a neurological ward in Auckland hospital. I have had a lot of experience with children. My mother is and Early Childhood Teacher and I have done a lot of relieving for her centres over the past few years. I have worked with all age groups from 3mth to 6 years old and have enjoyed all ages. Growing up as the second eldest I often looked after my younger siblings when my parents were at work giving me valuable life skills which I have been able to carry through into my nursing and teaching. I have recently spent this summer at a Canadian summer camp for people with disabilities aged 7 to 90 years of age. It was a truly rewarding and memorable experience. At the camp I was responsible for 7-15 campers at a time with a varitety of different disabilities. I worked with campers through the day with all aspects of daily life where needed including personal care, eating and drinking, behaviour management and additional skills such as g-tube feedings, bi-pap machines. I am reliable, punctual, fun loving and nurturing person who enjoys the working with people and joining them on their journey.

I love partnering children in their journeys of development whether it be through play, care moments, emotional development and simply having fun. I have enjoyed care moments with the infants 3mths-18mths and have experience in nappy changing, bottle preparation and feeding, sleeptime, and being present in their exploration and have built trusting relationships through being authentic in my practice. I have also enjoyed partnering toddlers through their emotional development and partnering the older age group 3-6yr olds in their discoveries and project work.

I believe all children need to feel safe, loved and respected and to know that they have a voice and it will be heard. I also believe that all children deserve a loving and peaceful environment in which they can express themselves and make discoveries building on their own working theories with support as needed.
