Hello. My name is Tyla . I am currently a student at the University of Victoria, completing my undergraduate degree in biology and psychology. I have spent the last few years spending my free time working fro a company called "Mad Science". I have gained so much experience working and educating kids in a fun and engaging way through this job. I have been successfully running after school programs, birthday parties, workshops, and shows with this company, and I love being able to teach kids about science in a fun and engaging way. I am currently looking for part time work in the mornings. I am available until noon each day. I have a current Emergency First Aid with Level B CPR, and a Foodsafe Level 1 certificate. I have a current criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check done. When I am not in class or at work, I love playing sports (especially volleyball), reading, hiking, or beach combing. I love getting outside whenever I can, and believe that to be an important aspect of children's lives as well. I am respectable, clean, and dependable. I do have a car and am willing to drive to work/drive with children. I hope that I can be a great addition to your household.

Working with Mad Science, running after school programs, birthday parties, spring/summer break camps, workshops and shows. I have been a part of the Students for Literacy volunteer club on the University of Victoria campus for four years. I am part of both programs run by the club, Reading Buddies and Classroom Tutoring. Reading Buddies includes pairing a big buddy (UVic student) with a little buddy (elementary aged child from the community). Together we read, play literacy games, or just hang out for two hours every Saturday. Classroom Tutoring involves going into a classroom to help a teacher one a week. I have been a part of the club for four years, but have been a club coordinator for the past two as well.

I am a few months away from completing my BSc in biology and psychology. I will be starting my BEd in elementary education in September
