Hi - My name is Amanda / Mandy. I am a highly driven, mature student, with a strong passion for writing. I consider myself to have great attention to detail, strong communication skills and high levels of creativity. I have proven ability to stay organized and optimistic while volunteering with vulnerable populations at the Trillium Childhood Cancer Support Centre and Mount Hope Long Term care; organizing and facilitating programs within the YMCA, and balancing the demands of post-secondary education and employment. I have completed education at both Fanshawe and Western and return again this year after the pandemic to improve upon some grades before entering the Medical Radiation Technologist program in Fall 2024. Some of my interests include a passion for the arts, health and wellness, reading, and hiking. I also enjoy yoga and a good animated or comedy movie, or a cartoon.

I have been working with youth since my early teenage years, and love it. I started by babysitting for kids in the Oakridge neighborhood at 13, and have spent time working at the YMCA, Make-A-Wish, as a peer tutor, and a camp counsellor. This year I have had the opportunity to become an Aunt as well to a beautiful baby girl! I am organized, love to explore different activities. I have experience with working with special needs and providing enriching sensory opportunities through what I have learned in my education at Western, Fanshawe, and through my former employment. I have some experience with infants, but primarily have worked with ages 2.5-3+ years old. However, I am teachable and always willing to learn.
