Hello Everyone. My name is Kaitlyn. I just moved to Vernon in December. I am 25 years old, and married to my high school sweet heart. I grew up in a small town called Dawson Creek (and no its not the TV show). I went to a private christian school. I am 1 of 6 daughters. At this point in life I do not have kids, and don't plan on it for a few years. Before graduating high school I did a ton of babysitting, often I would be booked for a week straight. Right out of high school I got a job working with a 3 year old boy who had autism. He stole my heart. From there childcare seemed to be the theme. I took a couple of online classes in early childhood education and got a certificate. I also to multiple workshops that were childcare related. I worked in a preschool, daycare, and a kindergarten, grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and grade 6. In 2015 I saw an opportunity to start my own after school care. I did that for 3 years before moving away. Briefly, I have also worked with a few non verbal adults. My last job I had the opportunity to work with a 27 year old girl who has down syndrome. Together we ran the front desk at a school. It was my job to come up with creative ways to include her in the daily routine. For hobbies I would considered my self an old soul, being that my idea of a fun evening would be making quilts, crocheting, making macrame wall hangings, and my newest hobby is weaving. If I am hanging out with a group of friends I love love love playing board games and card games. I would consider myself to be creative, not only when it comes to my hobbies, but also to the games I play with kids. I believe TV to be good in moderation, but the fun part comes when me and kids can do something interactive. From swimming to coloring, to doing tie dye, to baking cookies, to going to the skate park, to playing cards, to going to the ski hill. I am up for anything, for the most part. I have a drivers license, and a vehicle. I have my first aid for adults, infants and toddlers. I also have taken my food safe. If you need me to cook a meal for your kids, I can do so. Like I said in my description, I have had tons of child care experience. Between babysitting a lot growing up to getting my first job working with a 3 year old autistic boy. From working in a daycare, a preschool, and a school setting (grade kindergarten- grade 6)
