I currently live in the Parry Sound area so I have no problem commuting to Bracebridge, Port Carling, Hunstville, and surrounding areas. I have always been in an environment that needed me to care and nurture for those younger than me so I have grown up being both empathetic and sympathetic with younger children. I am very intuitive, so this has allowed me to learn the ability to understand kids without them needing to directly express what they are feeling - whether that be anxious, sad, excited, or nervous and I know how to deal with each specific emotion that they are facing. I am the third oldest of seven siblings so a big responsibility of mine has always been to act as a parenting figure when my parents were absent yet I was still able to bond and connect with children regardless of me being an 'authoritative figure'. This has helped me develop a good balance between being firm and loving. I am a very energetic, fun, and lively woman - I have played all ranges of sports in school; like tennis, volleyball, rugby, track and cross country so I have no problem keeping active with the children and don't tire out easily. I hope to be a positive figure in every young one's lives as it shapes them as they grow older, I have always formed a deep connection with children and aim to be a great role model in their life.

Work experience October 2021 - June 2022 Private Childcare, Toronto ON - Provided nurturing and attentive care to the child, ensuring his physical, emotional, and cognitive development. - Prepared balanced and nutritious meals and snacks. - Established consistent daily routines for the child, encompassing meal times, nap times, and play times. January 2021-October 2021 Teachers Assistant - Little Tots Manor, Toronto ON - Supervised free play and other activities to keep children safe. - Sanitized dishes, tabletops, toys, and frequently touched surfaces to prevent spreading of germs. - Helped with creation of age-appropriate activities to keep children positively engaged. - Established positive relationships with parent to collaboratively promote child's wellbeing. Jan 2014 - present Babysitting I often help friends and family babysit their kids on a random (and fixed) basis when required. I have a very open and flexible schedule. Some of the day-to-day tasks I completed were things such as meal preparation, light house cleaning, playing with the children, taking them for walks. I really enjoy working with children so I put my utmost ability in the position and treat them as if they were my own sibling. Jul 2018 - Aug 2018 Cabin Leader - Camp Mini-Yo-We During the summer I spent four weeks working with children; taking care of them, doing activities with them and essentially parenting them for four weeks. This job was enjoyable yet very challenging. Some of the kids I dealt with came from distorted family backgrounds, so a few kids had behavioural issues, some had attachment problems or abandonment issues, and so on. This job taught me to be very patient with the kids, for example if they misbehaved or said something rude I had to deal with it the right way and forgive them and move on. Sep 2016 - June 2019 Kids 4 Kids Kids 4 Kids is an organisation that the school sets up where students from our school read English books and do activities with children from local schools in Hong Kong. We did this once a week for 6 weeks; I really liked working with these children because I noticed that slowly they started to grow in their confidence to speak English and participate in the activities.

Babysat children during summers from 2016-2019 To Whom it may concern, I am writing this in regards to Olivia’s reference from a former employer. Olivia has worked for me for several summers as a childcare provider when she was in highschool and was visiting her family in Canada (they were living overseas at the time). Her employment ended due to school commitments. She helped to care for my younger children aged 3 months to 7 years. I think Olivia would make a very suitable nanny for a family with children of any age. Olivia has quite a bit of experience caring for children for several reasons: She comes from a large family and has several younger siblings for whom she shares responsibility, she has worked as a camp counsellor in Ontario, and she is kind, caring and very responsible. Olivia is organized and responsible and has no trouble thinking of creative things to do with young children. She follows instructions very well and is also a great cook. Olivia is very kind and loving and children enjoy being with her. An area in which Olivia could make some positive change (I wouldn't call it a weakness) would be to communicate clearly if she has questions in regard to expectations of her as well as to communicate and advocate for herself in regards to her own goals and expectations of her role. I would not hesitate at all to have Olivia back and I wish her every success in the future. Please don't hesitate to contact me again if you have further questions. Andrea McGilvray
