Hello, it’s nice to meet you my name is Sarah. I am currently a fourth year Bachelor of Elementary Education student at Vancouver Island University, I have been working with kids on and off over the last six years through babysitting, coaching, practicums and summer jobs. In the summer of 2019, I worked at an inner-city daycare in the Comox Valley, my time here gave me in-depth experiences working with kids of varying backgrounds, skills and abilities. I was able to work with children from ages three through to twelve. With my early year's students, we did a lot of our learning through centers, circle time and play both inside and outside. During my time at the daycare, I was moved into working primarily with the older group of children aged six to ten. My days with these students consisted of organizing games, activities, outside time, and walking trips which gave me extremely valuable experience in developing management and organization skills. The facility was located on a large property in which we had access to a forested area which allowed me to incorporate many of our activities in the woods where students were given the opportunity to explore and learn through nature. My time and experiences at this daycare rooted my beliefs in the importance of play-based and exploratory learning in the early years. I love getting kids outside, whether it’s to the beach, a trail or the park I think its extremely important for children to explore and imagine in the outdoors, I would love to take your little humans on many adventures during our time together. 2012- Coached tee-ball to a group of 2-5 year olds 2017- Nannied a three year old girl for the summer 2019- Worked as a child enrichement worker at a local daycare, primarily worked with a group of five to ten year olds.

I am currently in year four in the Bachelor of Elementary Education program at Vancouver Island University.
