I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. I am a graduate of the Personal Support Worker Program from Sir Sanford Fleming College and have many hours of clinical experience in many different units at various nursing and retirement homes. I think you will find that I am ready, willing, able and eager to learn and wish to secure a position with your organization and wish to have the opportunity to develop my skills within my scope of practice. My enthusiasm and dedication to providing the best possible care to the public is my ultimate goal and I believe has been evident thus far in my career.
For the past nine years, I have been working a full time position as a PSW/UCP at Traditions of Durham Retirement Community on the assisted living Floor. During which time I have had an amazing opportunity to work as part of a team of PSW’s, therapist’s, doctors and other nursing staff in the rehabilitation of many clients.
I have additional specialization training skills in several areas. Some of the most important strengths and achievements include:

• Passed and received required course with Crisis Prevention Intervention
• I have Current CPR – Health Care Provider
• I have demonstrated knowledge relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) with my previous and current practices
• I have proven my ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in my previous and current practices
• I have proven excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills
• I demonstrate excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution and critical thinking abilities in my daily practices
• I have proven my ability to perform the physical demands of the position
• I have proven good attendance record with the capability of maintaining this same standard
• I have the ability to work with clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds
