Hi. My name is Olivia and my passion falls in the hands of children. I have nannied for 12+ years with roles that include but are certainly not limited to, light and deep house cleaning; laundry; closet switch outs (babies grow fast. ); meal preps and cooking; drop-offs/ pick-ups; play dates; and classes like music, dance, swimming, and gymnastics. I love to stay busy just as kids normally do and so filing our days with crafts, physical activity, and outings (ie., library visits, trips to the beach, picnics, etc. ). Other experiences with children include volunteering in a a kindergarten room and teaching english online to children (aged 3-12) in China online. I used to dance professionally, I love to sing and play guitar, workout, and have fun but I also really find being productive a priority too. Over the years I have been able to figure out a system to ensure the child(ren) are safe, happy, and entertained while also maintaining the space and getting house tasks completed. I graduated from University of Guelph with a bachelor in Psychology and a minor in Child Youth and Family Development and am hoping to continue my education in childcare at some point. I love kids and I look forward to talking to you about your needs and about your little one(1).
I talked about this a lot in the description about me because it really does have a lot to do with who I am. After years of working jobs in retail I ALWAYS come back to child care because it is where my heart is. 12+ years as a nanny, online ESL teacher to young Chinese kids, and volunteering in a kindergarten classroom. I have also worked in a group home with young adults with developmental disabilities. These residents though adults, acted much like toddlers. I was required to shave and shower them, cook and feed them, take them to outings and "school", administer medications, and so much more. I will provide exceptional child care and you will come home to a clean house and healthy, happy kids.
I graduated from the University of Guelph in Ontario with an honours bachelor in Psychology and a minor in Child Youth & Family Development. I loved this program and it only made it clear that I want to work with kids and will plan to further my education on this topic.
