My name is Candace and I love kids and caring for them. I have been a nanny for the last few years, and have had countless experiences helping with Littles over the years. A very creative person by nature, I love anything artistic and hands-on: sewing, crafting, musical instruments, you name it, I'll do it. And being that these are my passions, I love to bring those skills to the table when caring for kids. I'll frequently come up with and organize crafts for the children I'm caring for, and you can almost always hear me humming or singing a song. I have a very relaxed approach when it comes to children: simply let them be children! I believe in letting kids explore, play, learn through trial and error, and experience the world in a kid-safe way with gentle boundaries enforced by parents or myself. I strive to model kindness, patience, and compassion, for as we all know, "monkey see, monkey do"! I also believe children need a healthy amount of structure and guidance. I believe things like routine, clear expectations and boundaries, age-appropriate responsibilities, and natural consequences are very beneficial. In this way, I have a rather hybrid approach of both more traditional parenting and gentle parenting. While I have no training in Montessori, the concept intrigues me, and I'd love to foster a similar approach when I work with children in the future. I’m currently working on my birth and postpartum Doula certification, so if you are looking for someone in that area of work, I’m happy to discuss that as well. - 2016 to 2019: After school/summer care for 2 8-12-year-olds. - January to March 2020: Before school care for 2 boys, ages 3 and 6. - January to March 2020: Part-time care for 1.5 year old. - June to August 2022: (nearly) full time care for 3 girls, ages 7, 6, and 1.5 - September to December 2021: Before and after school care for 5-year-old, occasional help with a newborn. - April to September 2022: care for 3 & 1.5 year old - Feb 2022 to present: part time care for 2 & 7 year old (5 & newborn when I started) - Feb to September 2023: care for twin 1.5 year olds. - numerous babysitting jobs over the last 8 years, watching up to 5 children at a time.

I was homeschooled from elementary school all the way through high school, which has encouraged me to be a very independent and self-motivated learner. I have completed all the required high school maths, as well as chemistry, English, and German courses.
