Student Therapist (Placement)
My role as a Student Therapist involved assisting in the delivery of field care services and rehabilitation of injuries for UofT’s Varsity Blues Women’s Hockey Team under the mentorship of a staff therapist from the David L. MacIntosh Sport Medicine Clinic. I functioned as a member of an Integrated Support Team, interacting with coaches and players in a manner compliant with privacy laws in Ontario. I also provided pre-activity preparatory services (taping, bracing, and conduct of appropriate warm-up exercise), first-response to acute injuries (didactic and practical first response training), and post-activity restorative services (warm-down, cooling, compression, etc.).
