Hi.
My name is Elsa and I am 19 years old. I am in my second year at McGill University, studying Environment and Art History. I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, attending a French Immersion elementary school. I have two older sisters and was raised by a single mother. I can attribute my independence and resilience to this, having to prepare dinners, clean, and generally take care of myself at a very young age.
I began babysitting while I was fairly young for the family next door, eventually becoming their summer nanny while I wasn't in school. I also started working at restaurant at the age of 11, doing small tasks until I was a bit older and became fully apart of the staff. I have always enjoyed holding a job, and I am confident in my ability to take on new challenges as quickly as they may come.
Throughout High School, I participated in track and feild and exercised regularly on my own. I also was a member of the Model UN team, Mock Trial team, and Yearbook. In all of these organizations, I held a leadership position in my senior year. For Model UN and Yearbook, I traveled to different states for conferences and seminars, expanding my knowledge on the subjects surrounding the club as well as general leadership and proffessional skills.
I began cooking for myself and my sisters a young age due to familial circumstances, but have truly found myself in it. I absolutlely adore to cook and bake, and have been doing it for over 10 years. It has been apart of my job descrpition since I began working, but I also do it with freinds and family constantly. A friend and I (who still cook together all the time) decided to host a pop up restaurant for one night in the summer of 2017. In one week we planed, prepped, and cooked for about 40 guests. There were 3 courses, each with 2-3 options. It was a hit and so we did it again the next year. I am truly proud of what we accomplished and how it has helped me grow as a chef. I am happy to cater to any dietary restrictions and make sure your little ones are well fed.
I love to be social, try new activities, and stay active. On the other hand, I am also quite the independent learner and truly appreciate alone time to read, write, and draw. I believe I can get along with almost anyone and am great at finding ways to keep your children engaged and occupied until you're able to get home.

I began babysitting the neighbors next door when I was about 11 years old, just for a few hours at a time. As I got a bit older, I became a more full time nanny, especially in the summer. The two boys were ages 6 and 8. We played often outside, walked to the park swam in the above groud pool, and sometimes ventured to museums and parks further away when my mother could drive us. I made them meals, cleaned and helped around the house, and helped with school work. I had already begun working elsewhere when they moved, so my childcare work came to pause. I worked in the service industry, talking to customers regularly, as well as cooking and cleaning regularly. In high school, I volunteered as a teaching assistant for my elementary school. There I helped in the classroom, mostly working with students between the ages 5-11 in small groups working on different activities.
Overall, I intend to be a great role model and an engaging caretaker for your kids. I love to stay busy, healthy and get things done. I am excited to be able to work with kids and families, and to get to know you well.
I attended a montessori preschool, french immersion elementary school, and continued french all through High School. I am now in my second year at McGill. Though I do not have a tremendous amount of certified training, I am confident in the expereinces I have had and my ability to be a good caretaker for your family.
