Hello, My name is Jayda. My childcare approach is loving in nature. I practice gentle parenting. I have done leisure study on the practice of the Montessori approach and I have stuck to it ever since. With that being said I am always happy to follow direction outside of my preferred method to match the parenting style that the parents prefer. I am seeking a nannying position. Below you can find detailed information regarding my skill set and past experiences with kids. I understand that finding the right nanny can be a tough and sometimes scary process. For me, nannying has been much more than a means to an end, more than a support while I travel and definitely much more than a job. Working with children feeds my inner caregiver and nurturer. Nannying has been the most rewarding job I have had thus far. My experience as a live in nanny really solidified my passion for working with kids. I had spent years being a big sister, a babysitter, a camp counsellor and so on. But none of those positions compared to the love I felt in the months I spent living side by side with the children I was nannying. I didn’t miss a birthday, a pizza party, a nightmare, a play date, a temper tantrum, a mess…I even got to witness the two toddlers I was nannying gain the greatest gift, a baby brother! I worked with the family 4 months following the arrival of their new born and I gained so many experiences every nanny dreams of! I have always had a passion for working with kids. I am the oldest of three so the babysitting started young for me and truly never stopped. I spent my high school co-ops in kindergarten classrooms, my college summers over seas au- pairing as a live in nanny in Europe and right now I am spending my summer at Heartland Forest summer camp for the second year in a row. I have many years of professional childcare experience. Over the years I have gained experience working with kids ages new born- teenagers. I have seen it all! I am happy to help with meal prep, light house keeping, pet care, homework etc. My goal is to provide a safe, creative space for the children I am working with to grow and learn. In the past while working as a nanny I spend most of my hours with the kids outside. I like to take them for walks, go to the park, go swimming etc. Basically any activity that can be done outside in the sunshine, will be done outside! Technology is so amazing but I rarely resort to it while nannying. I am a firm believer that movies are for rainy days, when the kids are sick of reading books! As you can imagine I am very active, I am high energy and outgoing. I am always on the move and I love that kids keep me on my toes. I am always coming up with new crafts, activities and places to take the kids while I am nannying. In all my past child care positions I have consistently displayed compassion, a genuine love for what I do and the ability to tire out even the most energetic of children. I am seeking a position where I can take the kids on lots of outings that fit their age and interests. For example, splash pads, zoo, butterfly conservatory, bird kingdom, Fallsview waterpark, arcade, bowling, skyzone, pottery painting, library etc. My hope is to combine all of the experience, training, patients, crafts, games and wisdom I have picked up over the years and provide exceptional, flexible, admirable nannying services.
