My name is Vicki and I am a graduate from Wilfrid Laurier and Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. I have my Bachelor of Education with a focus in Primary/Junior grades and Special Education Part 1. I am capable of incorporating learning into your child's daily life as teaching and learning are passions of mine. There is so much to learn and understand in the world, so why not explore it? It would be my delight to share time with your children: get them energized, motivated, fed, and focus on quality time doing things they love. I am a caring, compassionate person that has worked with one on one children and small groups. Recently, I have been caring for a 17 year old with Primordial Dwarfism and on other days two boys under 5, one whom is being tested for Autism. I do not yet have children of my own but am "Aunty" to many and I love it. My own home is well kept with daily tidying and weekly cleaning as a well kept home makes me happy. I have a German Shepherd who is 9 and we walk for an hour or two a day to enjoy the neighbourhood and trails. Prior to COVID-19 I was in a book club and on a pool team. I still read, puzzle and play pool at home. Being outdoors in the spring, summer and fall is important to me. I do not mind winter for short breaks and crisp walks or play. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Over the last 15 years, I have worked with children from all ages in various settings from babysitter, tutor, to caregiver. As a Tutor/Education Coordinator at Summit Learning Centres, I created a preschool program that assisted children 3 to 5 in understanding classroom settings and lessons. For a year, I worked with various age students with numerous disabilities and learning habits and established an inclusive environment by building rapport and trust. I have babysat newborns to children over the age of ten, for short periods of time from 1 hour to 3 and up to full days periodically. Planning the time to include meals, physical activity, games, learning and what the children enjoy for fun. Recently I have been a caregiver to a 17 year old with Primordial Dwarfism. Each day depends on her mood, thus requiring a handful of ways to keep her engaged and have her connect. every child is unique, with their own set of likes and interests. My goal is to understand, relate an connect to each child and ensure they feel they are being listened to.
