my name is Jordyn and I am a 21-year old professional nanny based in Whitby, with four years of experience in childcare. My passion for children, coupled with my ability to connect meaningfully and provide loving care, allows me to fill the role of nanny, mother's helper, or babysitter as needed. I am seeking part-time work and am available during mornings and midday from Sunday to Monday, Wednesday to Friday, and on Saturdays. I am a high school graduate and can provide versatile assistance around the house - from cooking, light housekeeping, running errands, and pet care to taking care of the kids' laundry and helping them with homework. I follow dietary guidelines diligently and can adapt meals to cater to vegetarian, kosher, or lactose intolerant diets. Comfortable and experienced in working with children of all ages, from newborns to those over 10 years, I am capable of working with four or more children, as well as those with disabilities. I possess a driver's license along with my own vehicle for job-related use and can travel, though I am not looking to relocate. I am a non-smoker with a work permit and can swim well. I have experience in childcare in a variety of settings. Since on Nanny Services I have had 4 nanny placements with 1) a 2 and a half year old and a 15 month old in the mornings, including keeping them entertained, making snacks, changing diapers and putting down for naps. 2) a 5 and 8 year old during the school day assisting with online school work, making other assignments for them to work on, making meals and leading extracurricular activities to keep them entertained. 3) a 9 year old after school, picking up from the bus stop, making snacks and planning after school activities. (4) My most recent placement was with 4 children. A 9 year old doing online school, a 2 year old, and newborn twins! I would assist the 9 year old in his school activities, play and put the 2 year old down for naps, feed change and put the twins to sleep. This was an amazing opportunity for me to learn how to multitask! I also ran several dance groups for children (ages 3-10). This required different levels of childcare in order to customize to the specific age group. During dance camps, I instructed the children in dance but also devised activities such as art and crafts and supervised trips to the park outside of the studio. One of the best experiences I had working with children was at my co-op assisting a Grade 3 class, I got to help children one on one with tasks and assignments - some special needs - and also had the privilege to lead the class at whole sometimes with a lesson I had previously made up, for example reading assignments, whole class sometimes. I was hired to be a camp counsellor for the City of Oshawa but unfortunately this opportunity fell through due to COVID. However, it gave me the opportunity to plan activities as well as secure my First Aid/CPR training. Once the pandemic settles, I plan to attend post-secondary on a part-time basis to option my ECE.
