I am currently a student at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Therapeutic Recreation. Classes are going to be in-person starting January, starting 10:00am at the earliest and running until 5:30pm at the latest, giving me flexibility in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. I spent two summers ago babysitting children between the ages of 4 and 11, but I am comfortable taking care of younger children as well. During high school, I worked as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, so I have my Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification and have lots of experience teaching children how to swim and helping them at times when they are uncomfortable or upset being out of their comfort zone. In my co-op program, I have worked four months in recreation at a long-term care home, and recently completed a live-in position at a group home, assisting people with intellectual disabilities in their daily routines. These two co-op experiences have given me lots of opportunities to assist people in times of discomfort and greatly improve my communication skills.

During high school, I worked as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor so I have lots of experience spending time with children and guiding them through different activities. I also have experience with occasional babysitting over the years and spent this past summer babysitting four kids as their parents were busy in and out of the house working during weekdays. Along with these experiences, I have three younger siblings. Growing up with three younger siblings and often babysitting them when my parents were busy, I have lots of experience managing conflict and activities between groups of multiple children. Living on my own now, I am also comfortable with basic cooking and housekeeping activities as needed.

I completed my Ontario Secondary School Diploma in June 2019 and am now beginning my second year as a student at the University of Waterloo majoring in Therapeutic Recreation.
