Hello. I am an enthusiastic, caring, and patient individual who loves spending time with children. I was born and raised on the North Shore and currently live close to Lonsdale * I am very “on it, ” in terms of COVID-19 precautions. I follow guidelines, have a small bubble; wash/sanitize often, and wear a mask when in public. * I have been taking care of children for over ten years now. I’ve child-minded for various families and have taken care of my own siblings. One is ten years younger than me, so I like to joke that I have never entirely stopped with that. I can pick-up and drop-off as I have my own transportation. A bit about me and my philosophy: When I am not attending class online through Capilano University, you can find me gardening, reading, painting, and spending time in nature. As well, I love baking. I value slowing down in a fast-paced world. I believe that it is important to strike a balance between physical play, learning, and rest. I encourage the children I work with to explore their creativity, try new things, and learn how to voice their needs. My approach is centred around using gentle guidance and boundary setting. I have been babysitting on and off for multiple years. As mentioned before, I have babysat my brother for many years now. Many of the families that I have babysat for have moved abroad; however, I do have a local reference :) On a separate but still related note, I have done peer mentoring for special needs students at Capilano University. Here we have discussed subjects ranging from emotional intelligence development to study strategies. I believe that coming from a place of understanding and compassion can make all the difference.
