I am a 20-year-old student at the University of Ottawa, studying to become a teacher. Currently, I have taken some time off of school to work since I have not excelled really well with online classes. It is my intention to work with children since I love it so much. In relationship to my experience with this particular sector, from a young age, I volunteered at a Sunday nursery daycare, young children's daycare, and youth daycare at my parents' church. From the age of 12, I have done some babysitting quite frequently for a few families in my area. In addition, I have been working as a lunch supervisor and an occasional teaching helper at an elementary school in Orleans. In these jobs, I have been very interactive with the children by providing them some entertainment, game ideas and invoking disciplinary actions and methods when necessary. If you have any special requests or methods of your own I would be happy to read up on it and inform myself. I have taken a few education and child care courses throughout my university career thus far, therefore I find that my experience and my academics have given me plenty of knowledge on children, their care, needs, and behaviours. I also know a lot about the Montessori method of parenting and education. My hobbies include writing, reading, and playing instruments. I currently am able to play 6 instruments including, drums, vocals, ukulele, bass, cello, and the kalimba. Recently I have also been interested in crochet. I also have plenty of knowledge related to the care of animals. Throughout my life, my family always had a variety of pets in the house, from hamsters to birds, a crab, a dog, and lizards. Currently, I have my own bearded dragon named Hiro and a Shitzu named Rosie. I reside with my parents in Gloucester in order to save money on living expenses so I can eventually buy my own house in the near future. However, I have a car that I can use for traveling around. I have always loved taking care of children and I would love to find a job doing exactly that.

Hi. My name is Dayna and I’m looking for a live out full time nanny position, ideally until September 2021, while I am taking time off school where I am studying to become a teacher. I might be able to do longer but that will have to be discussed further. I am engaging, caring, active and really love children. I find that it is not only important to watch children but to play with them, interact with them and provide them with activities that interest them and stimulate them in the best ways possible. Here on some details about my experience: I have been babysitting for various families around my area since I was 12 years old. These families were between 2-5 children, aged from 1 month up till 13 years old. In addition, from the age of 14 I have been volunteering at my parents church in the nursery, young children, children and youth centres until I was 18. In October, I started working at an elementary school (La source) as a lunch supervisor and an occasional teachers aid. Most of my hours there were spent with younger children, however I have also worked with older ones as well. In university I have taken some classes related to education and childcare. I have also done various research projects on these subjects as well. I am fully bilingual in English and in French. I have basic first aid knowledge and took a non certified class while I was in school. I have cpr knowledge for adults and babies but do not have my official certificate. I am currently enrolled in the university of Ottawa, doing a Bachelor of Arts to eventually become a teacher. I have taken classes about education, childcare and I have done several research projects about different studies, methods and behaviours related to these. In addition, I have taken a babysitting course several years ago that I would be happy to renew if needed. I am not cpr trained, however I know of the proper method for adults, children and babies. It is a certification I am willing to get if needed. I am not first aid certified, however I took a first aid class while in school as well as some medical health classes, where our final exam was to preform first aid on someone.
