  About Me
Hello. My name is Brigit and I am a 19 year old Social Work student studying at University of Ottawa looking for an opportunity to help out a family. I grew up with three siblings, so I am used to being in a busy and lively environment. I have always loved kids and started babysitting at around 13 years old. I also have my CPR C and NLS and worked two summers with the City of Ottawa as a lifeguard. Before going to university, I took a year off and travelled to The Netherlands where I stayed with a single mom and helped her take care of her four year old son. I absolutely loved this experience and it is what inspired me to take the route of Social Work, as I hope to continue helping others throughout my lifetime. I am looking for full-time employment for the summer, although if necessary, I am willing to start immediately (perhaps not full-time though). I hope to hear from you soon.

  Work Experience & Education Background
3 years experience, 0 references
My childcare work began at 13 years old when I started babysitting two girls on my street once a week for about a year. One of the girls was three years old and the other was five. Then, at 16 years old I became a play and learn volunteer at Ottawa's paediatric palliative care, Roger Neilson House. In this position, I would bake, take the kids own walks and ensure their comfort. I absolutely loved volunteering at Roger Neilson House and as a result, I volunteered there for three years. Finally, last year I took the year off and traveled to The Netherlands where I helped a single mom take care of her four year old boy for three months.
Childcare experience within the following age groups:
2 - 5 years, 5 - 10 years, special needs children
High School, CPR Training, First Aid Training
I graduated high school in 2019 from Glebe Collegiate Institute. I received my bilingual certificate as well as my DELF D2 in French. I am now studying Social Work at University of Ottawa.
