Hi there. My name is Emilia and I am 23 years old. I am a newly married, recently graduated with a Bachelor in Human Health Science (June 2021) woman who is passionate about working with children. Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be a mother and a teacher. I have been a tutor for the past 6 years enjoying teaching and helping my students grow, volunteering and working with children outreach and camps, and babysitting for several years. I plan to attend teacher's college in the future but at this time it is in the best interest of my family for me to work.
Since I was eleven years old I have been volunteering and working with children. I have worked with ages newborn through high school at a local church which I attended for the majority of my life. At this church, I also had an internship where I was in charge of Summer Daze – weekly events for children in Grades 1-5 that I planned, organized and hosted. I also created the activities and scheduling while managing volunteers. Further, I have babysat for so many families that I can’t name them all, and I have been tutoring kids for 6 years now in the subjects of reading, writing, math, science, chemistry, French and ESL.
I also travelled overseas to Guatemala in 2016 and the Dominican Republic in 2019 with a group from my church to volunteer and work with locals to run children day camps, help with building projects, and bring donations.
I am often described as an individual who is compassionate, responsible, understanding and personable. My interests include helping others in any way that I can, and my hobbies include volunteering, DIY-ing, exploring the outdoors, event planning, cooking & baking, and photography. I am an outgoing and creative person who enjoys making things fun. I am reliable, adaptable, patient and have a true passion for working with children.
I have learned and seen the value of engaging children with fun, educational games and activities. When I babysit, I love to go for walks or adventures to the park, make crafts, and bake together. Additionally, as a Mother's helper, I am a very organized person with attention to detail and I love to help others. I also enjoying meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking and would gladly help with any of those responsibilities.
Lastly, I am certified in CPR and First Aid Training.
