Well hello there. My name is Morgan. I am an avid fisher woman, canoeist, outdoor enthusiast, master chef junior and coffee snob. I have a Bachelors from Carleton University in Child Studies and diploma in Early Childhood Education from Algonquin College. I also took a post graduate certification in Event Management(8mo) from Algonquin. I have a clean record check, reliable Subaru, first aid and CPR and several references. I have no children. In 2016, after a few years of 60 hour weeks, I left my work at a well known children's charity as their full time event manager to pursue my true passion: working directly with kids. It was a risk that I am proud to have taken as I have had the most rewarding experience being a FT nanny for a 4 and 9 year old over the last 8 months. Sadly, the little one will be going to school in September so I am looking to start with a new family at the end of October/early November. I coached gymnastics/dance for over 6 years, have traveled extensively and enjoy spending time with my friends/family. I spend most of my weekends at my cottage or in my canoe. I think I have a great sense of humor, something incredibly important in the child-care field. I am driven and pride myself in working hard and being efficient. I am non religious, Liberal, a feminist and live my life being respectful of and embracing diversity, equality and the environment. I take my work with children seriously, it's more than "babysitting" and requires a lot of patience, organization and enthusiasm on all fronts. I love what I do and my passion for kids shows in my work. I have worked with children for years(day-cares, schools, volunteer experiences, coaching, babysitting, fundraising), and I am seeking a family that cares as much about quality child-care as I do. I live a healthy lifestyle and want to support children by spending lots of time moving around, being active and making healthy choices. As aforementioned, I am big into outdoor time (all seasons), so finding a family that likes to hike, swim, fish, ski, canoe, explore, etc. is important to me(or be open to letting the children do these activities with me). I would love to take the children to the parks, library, pools, hikes, and do play-based learning activities with them. I sing, dance, play guitar, play sports, do crafts, meal prep, errands, light housework, diapers, toilet train, etc. I like to think of myself as a modern day Mary Poppins looking for the right family. Not every nanny/family is a good fit, but when a match is made it can be an amazing thing. It's all about team work, communication and support. I also have extensive experience working with children with exceptionalities and am open to continuing with that. I am looking forward to hearing from the right family, please get in touch if you feel that I would be a good addition to the family.
