  About Me

Hi, (highlights and detailed profile below)
Experienced nanny/family aid relocating to Vancouver in mid-September/early October.

If you are looking for a well mannered and educated, extremely experienced child Caregiver, then please read on and do not hesitate to contact me.
-My main goal when I work is very simple: to make absolutely sure that any child I work with always, ALWAYS, feels loved, safe, and well Cared for AND that the parents feel utterly at ease and peace of mind-
* I see myself as a facilitator to hopefully optimize the time you get to spend with your kids by having meals, homework, and whatever else taken Care of so you can have as much unstressful quality family time as possible. *

I have over 20 years of experience, I absolutely adore kids. I speak both French and English fluently and understand Spanish though I wouldnít say Iím anywhere near fluent.
I have a background in journalism, writing, as well as culinary school and used to cater privately. When I work for a family, helping out with meals is always a joy to me; catering to your needs and love. *i consider my role more as a family aid then simply a nanny. *
My main goal when I work is very simple: to make absolutely sure that any child I work with always, ALWAYS, feels loved, safe, and well Cared for AND that the parents feel utterly at ease and peace of mind knowing their child is with me (or any Caregiver you choose).
From there, we can build so much more.
I may work mostly with the kids but I always consider my job to be for the family as a whole.
I see myself as a facilitator to hopefully optimize the time you get to spend with your kids by having meals, homework, and whatever else taken Care of so you can have as much unstressful quality family time as possible.
When I commit to a family I keep my schedule very flexible because being a working parent is unpredictable and it happens all the time that ppl may be late or didnít have time to run errands or anything of the sort.

I would love to discuss further with you and know your needs.
I really hope to hear from you soon :)
Sincerely
Caroline

Additional Experiences/Qualifications/Preferences:
I have extensive culinary training as well as professional catering experience, it is crucial for you to know that I am deathly allergic to basil so some adjustments may have to be made in so far as keeping my own life safe, this is truly an easy problem to address and work around but I rather you be aware sooner than later :) Most of the children I have worked with in the past few years have had learning disabilities or behavioural difficulties and I have absolutely adored my time with them. I have been through these same struggles and am so passionate in helping them find their paths through it all. I really believe the right word to use should be Ďdifferencesí as itís mostly a matter of seeing the world, the material in a different way in order to get them to understand how to get to the end result with minimal frustrations. I have practiced music and various sports since early childhood and am very good at teaching children. I also worked as a tutor while in high school and always helped with homework with the older children I have worked with. I have quite a bit of experience working with autistic children (aspergers). I worked with them to get them to make contact and have what society would deem as "regular social interactions" as well as teaching them how to adjust and accept little changes in their routines like having their lunch vary from their usual or, probably the hardest of all, that we can't always win when we play games and that it's completely ok.

Mother of now 10 year old boy/girl twins I have been helping out for a while and who has gotten to know me quite well. Excellent person to be able to let you know more about the kind of person I am both as in my morals and values as well as how I care for children :)

Mother of 4 boys: 9 years old, 7 years old and 3 year old twins. I worked for this family last fall/winter as the father had a very demanding work contract where he had to be away from home for half the month every month. I cared for all 4 boys, cooked, made breakfasts and lunches, instilled a bed time routine and sleep trained the twins. An amazing family who are tightly knit and I had such a great experience and consider myself so lucky that they welcomed me as one of theirs. The boys all had their own distinct personality and the home was definitely lively and having eyes on all 4 of them at all times was mandatory as well as breaking up and resolving a new argument every minute. I thrive in this kind of environment that keeps me on my toes. Absolutely love those boys and their parents - they are truly lovely people.
