  About Me

I graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with an education degree. I have had practicum placements in a grade two, grade three and kindergarten class and I am very comfortable around children of all ages, including those that may have special needs. I think these classroom experiences greatly lend to my ability to perform well in this position.

I also have had the opportunity to volunteer at an orphanage in Uganda for 2 months. I believe that it is important to provide a nurturing, safe environment for children to engage in constructive activities and play. I enjoy doing art or educational projects with children but I also believe activities that keep children active such as going to the park are equally as important.

  Work Experience & Education Background

6 years experience, 2 references
I took a babysitting course when I was young. By the time I was 16 I was looking after a family who had 3 children all under the age of 5 including one newborn. I have babysat for many different families that had a variety of different requirements.

I graduated from Concordia in Montreal(2014) with a teaching degree, specializing in art. I had several placements with Montreal schools working more than 600 hrs with many age levels and abilities. I have been in schools that have inclusion programs working with children who have autism, ADHD, ODD etc. I believe that it is important to provide a nurturing, safe environment for children to engage in constructive activities and play.

I have also worked with diverse children, adult and senior populations through volunteering and community education. Having taught a new immigrant welcome group for an after school program through Harcourt House, working with a group of seniors some of who spoke French only and volunteering at St. Jude’s orphanage in Gulu, Uganda to name a few. These skills also assist me greatly when working with family units.
