For over 25 years, Tots World Daycare has operated and provided a fundamental child care service. Tots World Daycare is an accredited centre, proud to offer excellence in programs, continually applying efforts to improve the quality of our services, and giving families the best care for their children. The accreditation process is based on completing a comprehensive self-assessment and quality enhancement activities through which child care programs achieve and maintain high quality of care for children in Alberta. We accept children of ages 3 months to 12 years old (day care and out of school care). Tots World Daycare is seeking a qualified child care employee, with an educational background in the child care field. We are currently accepting child care assistants (Certified Level 1), child care workers (Certified Level 2), and child care supervisors (Level 3); in addition to this, we are also looking for a driver who is qualified to drive the daycare commercial vehicle. Responsibilities (dependent upon role/certification): • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children • Change diapers • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children • Feed infants and toddlers • Discuss progress and concerns of children at staff meetings • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing child directed crafts • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child care programs before and after regular school hours Qualifications (dependent upon role/certification): • Prior work experience in a day care/child care field • Fluency in English • High school diploma or equivalent • L1, L2, or L3 • First aid, or obtaining upon hiring • Effective interpersonal skills • Flexibility, team oriented, and excellent oral/written communication skills • Any other day care or child care courses are considered an asset • Ability to do early day (6:30), or late day shift (ends at 5:45) All positions must go through a standard criminal record check procedure.
