Homecare for Parkinson's Patient - Weekends & Holidays

DH
Active:

Our father is suffering through the later stages of Parkinson's disease, but wishes to maintain a level of active living in his own home while awaiting long term care placement. He is not medically fragile at this point (can get around with a walker) but frequently needs help dressing, eating, toileting, bathing, etc. He would enjoy benefits some physio-type attention, maybe some muscle massaging in addition to help with his challenges. There is a daily routine of pills and tube feeding. Mother lives with him as well as a live-in caregiver during the week. They both need some relief on weekends and holidays. When meds are working, needs are minimal. He prefers to do things himself if he can. These are the times the Parkinsons kicks in and causes the "freeze up". During those times, he needs aid with most everything including having pillows adjusted to make him more comfortable. This can often occur the middle of night, when he needs help getting to the bathroom. We anticipate the job is part time, weekends and holidays only. Staying overnight is required. Bed and board is supplied for no charge. We would prefer someone with driver's license and a vehicle but it's not mandatory. Canadian citizens, permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Do not apply if LMIA is needed. We will not be applying for LMIA. THIS IS WEEKEND LIVE-IN ONLY TO COVER OFF ANY MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT NEEDS, WHICH CURRENTLY ARE 1-5 TIMES NIGHTLY. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT DO LIVE-IN. Location: Sherwood Park, Alberta $100-125 per 24 hour period which should typically require 6-8 hours of actual hands on work ($200-250 per typical weekend). Holidays pay extra. Room & Board: included
