HCA or LPN Overnight Awake Watch

Family in Riverbend area looking to fill a part-time position to cover our overnight awake watch requirements on Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday nights, supporting a young girl (10 years old) with developmental and medical disabilities. The position is located within a private home residence. The night shift role involves monitoring for seizure activity, checking oxygen saturation levels, assessing respiratory health, and offering supervision, personal care, and companionship during night wakings. Highly developed assessment and critical thinking skills are essential; we need someone who takes this responsibility seriously. Adherence to all infection prevention measures is critical. You must be trustworthy, reliable, compassionate, and able to learn. The role should be considered like any daytime shift, and we expect the person to arrive well-rested and prepared. The candidate will be required to demonstrate a plan to manage night shifts within their lifestyle, as well present ideas/strategies to remain alert and responsive during the shift. Qualifications: Our ideal candidate is a graduated from, or currently enrolled in, a health program (e.g., health care aide, disability support worker, nursing, therapies, etc.). Previous experience with caregiving, disabilities, or healthcare is desirable. Experience with oxygen administration and seizures is an asset. Active registration with CLPNA an asset. Criminal record and vulnerable sector background checks required. Influenza and complete series of COVID-19 vaccination required. Mastery of English required. Rate of pay is $24.00 to $27.00, commensurate with education and experience. We look forward to hearing from those of you interested in this opportunity.
