Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (Overtime paid after 40 hours). Two weeks paid vacation for full time employees. Salary: $11.35-14.00, depending on qualifications and experience Overtime Rate: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations Job Duties: • Childcare and supervision of Both kids to occur in employer’s private residence • Responsible for serving meals, helping with bathing, dressing and walking to school • Preparing and serving nutritious meals for child • Engaging in learning and play activities in the home • Tending to emotional well-being of child and supporting child’s social development • Light housekeeping, cleaning and tidying duties • Maintaining safe and caring environment in home Education, Experience and Skills Requirements: • Completion of Canadian or Canadian equivalent high school/secondary education (or equivalent for New Immigrants. ) • Some first aid and CPR training, or willingness to obtain, is preferred • At least 6 to 1 year of full time paid employment as a nanny/caregiver for child or in a related field of occupation • Must be able to work independently in an unsupervised setting Personal Skills: Reliable, trustworthy, warm, calm, good interpersonal and communication skills. Energetic and comfortable with young children. Transportation: Driver’s license is preferred but not necessary. Public transit is available near employer’s home.
