I am a 40 year old with a cervical spinal cord injury, and am looking for a mother's helper/care-aide to help me with personal care (toileting, showering, dressing), manual stand-pivot transfers, my physiotherapy exercises, some household operations, driving to medical appointments, and who is willing to help me with my 6 year old and 4 year old daughters. For my daughters, we will be getting them to and from Preschool and Grade 1 in September, and taking the younger one to some afternoon classes at the Community Centre. We live in West Vancouver, straight up Taylor Way into the British Properties. I am looking for a commitment of at least one year (or hopefully more), since the children get attached to the assistants. Days of work are Monday through Friday, 6 am to 12 noon. I am looking for an individual who is compassionate, motivated, caring, and organized. A love for young children is a must. This position is great for anyone who is wanting experience to apply for nursing/medical school, or physiotherapy/occupational therapy/recreation therapy, or Early Childhood Education. Must have Driver's License & own vehicle, and supply copy of Driver's Transcript, Criminal Record Check, and work references. Must have valid work visa or SIN.
